2012 Oklahoma peanut field tours

Past Event:

Two Oklahoma peanut tours are scheduled for September 25—one in Beckham County and one at the Caddo Research Station near Fort Cobb.

The Beckham county tour begins at 9: a.m. at the Beckham County Activity Center in Sayre, Okla. The Caddo Research Center tour begins at 4:00 p.m. Dinner will be served following the field tour.

Participants will hear the latest in peanut research and hear industry updates. Hull blasting equipment will be available at both tours so farmers should bring representative samples from their fields to determine maturity and anticipated digging dates.

The Caddo County Field tour will include timely updates on cotton research in southwest Oklahoma, in addition to the ongoing peanut research that includes: variety testing, genetic improvement, and disease control.
