The 18th Annual Texas Plant Protection Conference is just around the corner, and you should be making your plans to be at the Hilton Inn & Conference Center in College Station on December 5-6 for this special agricultural event.

James Grichar, senior research scientist with the Beeville Texas Agricultural Experiment Station and TPPA president, says, “This year’s outstanding program will be both informational and educational for all attending. This conference is your opportunity to keep up to date on the latest trends and changes in production agriculture.”

The morning General Session will include a welcome by the new head of the Texas A & M Soil & Crops Science Department, Dr. David Baltensperger. The morning session will have presentations by state Sen. Todd Staples and David Saunders, product development manager-corn & soybeans with Dupont. Saunders will discuss the integration of biotech products with conventional crop protection products now and in the future.

The remainder of the general session program includes an update on bio-fuels impact on Texas Agriculture and a presentation on food safety issues facing farmers. You will also hear about TPPA’s successful 2006 Precision Ag Expo and the plans for the 2007 Precision Ag Expo. This will be followed by a presentation on the benefits of Precision Agriculture.
