Bayer, Dow sign new marketing agreement

Bayer CropScience and Dow AgroSciences have announced a co-promotion agreement involving the companies' corn herbicides.

As part of the agreement, the Dow AgroSciences and the Bayer CropScience sales forces will jointly promote Dow's acetochlor brands, Keystone, Keystone LA, FulTime, TopNotch and Surpass herbicides with BalancePro herbicide to offer corn growers a pre-emerge weed control system.

With this combination, corn growers can get the most consistent grass control available in corn pre-emerge plus control of key broadleaf weeds including problem weeds such as nightshade, pigweed, lambsquarters and waterhemp. This combination gives corn growers their best shot at one pass weed control.

The agreement also includes co-promotion of a post-emerge program. Dow AgroSciences' Hornet WDG for post-emerge broadleaf control is a perfect fit with Option post-emerge grass herbicide.

Whether used as a planned post-emerge weed-control system or as part of a rescue program, the Option/Hornet combination offers powerful, broad-spectrum weed control with rotation flexibility and excellent crop safety.

“We're pleased to announce this co-promotion opportunity with Dow AgroSciences,” said Bob Condon, corn and soybean herbicides business manager. “Bayer CropScience's broad portfolio of corn products, complemented by the ability to co-promote leading products from Dow AgroSciences, allows us to continue to offer corn growers solutions to their weed-control needs.”
