Gaylon Morgan, Extension Small Grains Specialist at Texas A&M University, will cut through some of the haze surrounding the sometimes misunderstood Plant Variety Protection Act at the Dec. 7 Ag Technology Conference at Texas A&M University- Commerce.

Morgan will discuss implications that act may have on Northeast Texas wheat producers.

Other topics include seed treatment technologies for insects and diseases, forage production and pest management, Global Positioning Systems for more efficient chemical and fertilizer placement, and Roundup Ready and weed resistance issues.

Participants may earn up to 5 continuing education units for private applicators, commercial applicators, non-commercial applicators and certified crop advisors.

The Cereal Crops Research Incorporated, Texas Cooperative Extension, Texas A&M University-Commerce, and the agribusiness industry host the annual conference in the Sam Rayburn Memorial Student Center on the campus of Texas A&M University-Commerce.
