Cotton variety tests from 2010 have been released by the Oklahoma State University Extension Service. Tests were planted throughout Oklahoma cotton-growing locations.

Dryland variety trials.

In Tillman County, on clay loam soil, top variety was ST 5288 with 588 pounds of lint cotton per acre. Second top yielding variety at this location was DP 0935 at 573 pounds of lint cotton per acre. Third was AT 81158 with 533 pounds per acre of lint cotton.

In Tillman County on sandy loam soil DP 1044 was first with 483 pounds of lint per acre. DP 09R619 yielded 441 pounds per acre and FM 1740 yielded 432 pounds of lint per acre.

In Jackson County, AT 81158 yielded 879 pounds of lint per acre, followed by DP 0935 with 702 pounds. In third place was Phy 375 with 662 pounds of lint cotton per acre.

In Jackson County, FM 1740 made 720 pounds of lint per acre; Phy 375 had 696 pounds of lint per acre and ST 5458 yielded 656 pounds of cotton lint per acre

In Harmon County, ST 5458 yielded 409.2 pounds of lint cotton per acre. DP 1050 had 409 pounds and DP 1044 made 404 pounds.

Farther north, in Custer County, FM 1740 yielded 1,662 pounds of lint cotton per acre. Phy 367 had 1,546 pounds of lint cotton per acre and FM 9170 made 1,525 pounds of lint cotton per acre.

In Washita County, Phy 375 yielded 822 pounds of lint cotton per acre, followed by DP 1034 with 779 pounds and FM 9160 with 773 pounds of lint cotton per acre.

In Greer County, AT Epic yielded 357 pounds of lint cotton per acre, followed by AT 81158 with 349 pounds and DP 0935 with 324 pounds of lint cotton per acre.

In Beckham County, FM 1740 yielded 1,422 pounds of lint cotton per acre. ST 5458 had 1,406 pounds and FM 9170 yielded 1,392 pounds.
