John Deere has recorded a number of milestones in its 175-year history, starting with the development of the first self-scouring plow. One of the most important occurred in 1918 with its purchase of the Waterloo, Iowa, Gas Engine Co. Deere’s David Everitt talked about the purchase and the implications for the introduction of its new FarmSight technology at a meeting of ag journalists and security analysts in Des Moines, Iowa.
