Farm and ranch management workshop

Mark your calendars now for the free Farm and Ranch Management Workshop on Friday, Aug. 15 from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. at The Beer Warehouse (Historic Meeting Hall), 1302 South 2nd St. at C St. in Floresville.

The afternoon workshop will provide landowners and land managers an opportunity to learn more about the new Farm Bill and the changes to conservation programs, get an update on animal health challenges in Texas, learn how to manage livestock and wildlife nutrition during drought, discover how the Texas/Mexico Border Coalition assists agricultural producers and get ideas for improving ranch cash flow by using the resources you have.

Registration will be at 12:30 p.m. with the first session at 12:50 p.m. Continuing education units (CEUs) will be provided to participants who complete all the sessions. Dinner will be provided by Capital Farm Credit and refreshments will be sponsored by Alamo Resource Conservation & Development Area Inc. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the afternoon.

The City of Floresville in support of agriculture and the agri-businesses in South Texas is providing the facilities for the workshop.
