Convincing legislators of ag importance is farm bill challenge

The biggest obstacle to passing a new farm bill is convincing legislators that agriculture is important to the nation, said Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee Frank Lucas, at the recent Southwest Ag Issues Summit In Oklahoma city.

Chairman Lucas talked with Southwest Farm Press Editor Ron Smith about the challenges he and House and Senate colleagues face to get a bill passed this fall.
