The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is soliciting ideas about how to improve processes through consolidating information collected through the Farm Service Agency, Risk Management Agency, and other agencies at USDA.
The Department has asked for ideas about how to simplify and standardize acreage reporting processes, program dates, and data definitions across USDA, as well as how to allow farmers to use their farm-management and precision-ag systems for reporting production, planted and harvested acreage, and other information needed to participate.
The American Soybean Association will submit comments, which are due by Sept. 19, 2011. More information is available at www.usda.gov/open.
