The North Central Texas Basic Agricultural Field Day will be held on Friday April 23rd, 2010, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Myers Park and Event Center.

The field day will provide small acreage land owners in North Central Texas the basics of several agricultural topics to help them get started and progress productively in their agriculture areas of interest. Specialists will offer lectures, demonstrations and hands on activities.

Topics include:

• Agriculture and Wildlife Tax Exemption,

• Purchasing and caring for Livestock,

• Agricultural Liability,

• Nuisance Predator & Animal Control,

• Vineyard Establishment,

• Irrigation and Rainwater Harvesting, and

• Nature Tourism.

A trade show will include booths from area agencies, businesses, and other organizations that support agriculture in the region. Sponsors are the Texas AgriLife Extension Service, the Samuel R. Noble Foundation, and Myers Park and Event Center.
