South Texas Crop Loss Estimates To Be Released Friday

A media conference call announcing crop loss estimates due to above-normal rainfall over much of South Texas is scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday.

The estimates, compiled by Texas Cooperative Extension and the Texas Farm Service Agency, will highlight commodity losses in vegetables, sorghum, cotton and hay production.

Participating during Friday's call-in will be:

- Dr. Carl Anderson, professor emeritus and Extension economist in College Station

- Jose Pena, professor and Extension economist in Uvalde

- Dr. Larry Falconer, professor and Extension economist in Corpus Christi

- John Fuston, state executive director, Texas Farm Service Agency in College Station.
