Chamber to host Alternative Energy Symposium June 5

The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce will host an Alternative Energy Symposium on Friday June 5 and will highlight wind energy, ethanol, and energy policy. The Symposium will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Plains Cotton Cooperative Association, 3301 E. 50th Street.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the program begins at 8:30. Speakers will include Joe Outlaw with the Texas A&M Agricultural and Food Policy Center, Dr. Andy Swift with the Texas Tech Wind Science and Engineering Center, Sam Sacco with the Levelland-Hockley County Ethanol plant, and Tim Lust with National Sorghum Producers.

The symposium will conclude with lunch and a panel discussion moderated by Tim Snyder of Agri-Energy Solutions. The panel will be made up of the morning's speakers.

Tickets are $49 ($39 for Chamber members). Sponsorships are available and reservations are required; deadline is 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 3.
