Pecos County to host pesticide continuing education unit workshop

The Texas Cooperative Extension office in Pecos County has scheduled a pesticide management continuing education unit workshop for Texas Department of Agriculture license holders from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Pecos County Civic Center in Fort Stockton.

Six continuing education units will be offered (three general, one laws and regulations, one integrated pest management and one drift management).

Topics during the morning will include: "Mixing Chemicals and Equipment Calibration for Drift Management," "Review of Pesticide Laws and Regulations," and, "Chemical Translocation in Plants" and "Weed Identification."

Following an "on your own" lunc! h, the workshop resumes at 1:10 p.m. with "Integrated Pest Management," "Chemical Properties of Pesticides, Adjuvants and Pesticides," and "Fire-A Management Tool After Chemical Treatments Along the Pecos River."

Individual registration is $5 at the door.
