Pesticide applicators license training offered

Texas Cooperative Extension in Hockley County will offer private pesticide applicator training to obtain a Texas Department of Agriculture pesticide applicators license the second and fourth Thursday of every month, except holidays.

A private pesticide applicator is a person who uses or supervises the use of a restricted-use or state-limited use pesticide or a regulated herbicide for the purpose of producing an agricultural commodity.

This license is not for those receiving monetary compensation for pesticide application.

To participate in a training, individuals must call 806 894-3159 by 3 p.m. the day before (Wednesday). Training on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays will begin promptly at 1 p.m. at the Extension office, 1212 Houston Street, Levelland.

A $20 fee for training materials will be required.
