The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation's Agricultural Division will host a Calibration and Equipment Field Day to help farmers and ranchers accurately set their equipment before use this season.
The event is open to the public and will take place from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday, April 19, at the Pavilion on the Noble Foundation campus in Ardmore. The cost of the workshop is $10.
"With high fuel and fertilizer costs, it is economically beneficial to accurately apply both your pesticides and fertilizer," said David Annis, Noble Foundation agricultural specialist. "If they haven't calibrated their equipment this year, this is the perfect opportunity to get a refresher course in calibration as well as learn about new technology."
The Calibration Field Day will feature Noble Foundation soil and crops specialists, as well as a representative from Estes Inc., speaking on improved spraying techniques and calibration of fertilizer buggies, boom sprayers, boomless sprayers and airblast sprayers.
The event will wrap up with a question-and-answer session and a hamburger cookout.
