Texas Tech University has presented a Distinguished Alumni award to Bob Robinson, regional program director of Texas Cooperative Extension's 66-county North Region.
Robinson earned a doctorate from Texas Tech, a bachelor's degree from West Texas A&M University and a master's degree from Texas A&M University, all in the field of animal science.
A native of Happy, Texas, Robinson began his 36-year career with Extension in 1970 as the assistant agriculture agent in Potter County. He served as Randall County agriculture agent from 1976 to 1985, and was district director for agricultural programs in the South Plains during the following 10 years.
