In accordance with an October 1 deadline set by the 77th Texas Legislature, the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) in Austin has developed or obtained ground water availability (GAM) models for all the major aquifers in Texas.

The Texas legislature funded the GAM program to develop numerical ground water flow models to help ground water conservation districts, regional water planning groups and others access current ground water availability and the effect of pumping or drought on these resources.

Unlike previous modeling efforts, new models developed under the GAM program had substantial stakeholder involvement. In some cases, the GAM represented the first modeling work for the area. All of the models, reports and support data are available on-line at: www.twdb.state.tx.us/gram or by request from the TWB.
