Restrictions on haying and grazing restrictions lifted

Congressman Randy Neugebauer has announced that federal haying and grazing restrictions for Texas have been lifted in response to recent drought conditions throughout much of the state.

This extends the primary “nesting” period through May 1 for haying and June 1 for grazing on land enrolled in the Conservation Reserve Program. Ranchers will need to meet certain environmental and conservation requirements to take advantage of this extension and should contact their local Farm Service Agency office.
