The ninth annual Texas Produce Convention, scheduled Aug. 18-20 at the Henry P. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, offers a diverse industry opportunity to discuss common challenges as well as to focus on more specialized problems.

“Partnering for Success” is the theme of the conference, co-sponsored by six separate associations: The Texas Apple Growers, the Texas Blueberry Growers Association, Texas Citrus Mutual, Texas Fruit Growers Association, Texas Produce Association and the Texas Vegetable Association.

Members of these associations will convene during a general session the morning of Aug. 19 to discuss issues that affect the entire produce industry. The afternoon is reserved for breakout sessions where associations can deal with production, marketing and regulatory problems specific to each association.

In addition to education sessions, participants also have an opportunity to see the latest in technology and products at the expo. More than 100 industry representatives will display their latest products and services.

Also on the agenda is an opening night reception, a grand auction, a golf tournament, a special speaker lunch and association meetings. An awards luncheon is scheduled for Monday.
