Produce industry committed to safest products


The U.S. produce industry welcomes the opportunity to implement some of the new regulations, many of which they championed, included in the Food Safety Modernization Act. But some of the regulations are both burdensome and unnecessary, says Ray Prewett, President of Texas Citrus Mutual and Texas Vegetable Association.

Prewett commented on the regulations during the recent Texas Produce Convention in San Antonio.
